My New Years Resolutions

I have decided that this year I will not be making any New Years Resolutions!!

Not because I don't have things that I need to improve upon.  But because I have too many!!

I have some bad habits to break, I could lose some weight, I could spend my money wiser, I could keep a cleaner house, be a better wife, mother, friend, read my bible more.  The list goes on and on and on.....

The more I thought about it, I realized that every year ( with every good intention of keeping them) I make a list of all the things I need to change or do better. And like every year before I fail!!!

I start off all geared up and ready for the changes and then BOOM I drop the ball!

Well thats just dandy.

Not only do I feel bad about all the things that I needed to change in the first place, but now I can add "loser" "failure" "quitter" to the list and I feel worse than I dd before.

So this year I have decided to take a slower steadier approach that will guarantee my success.

Instead of trying to make drastic changes on my own all at once.
I am instead going to start everyday by:
Asking God to help me be the best person I can be IN THAT DAY.
I will ask Him to guide me in serving Him by loving and serving those He puts in front of me.
I will choose joy and do my best to seek it and share it with others.
I will ask Him to open my eyes to the things that need changing and to give me the desire and will to change them.

For me this seems like a much better plan. I have learned in my life that whenever I have tried to do things on my own I either mess it up or never start LOL.
But when I take hold of Jesus' hand and go where He leads me at His speed I am victorious!!!

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!
And praying that you too are victorious in your journey!

Footnote: I just noticed I use a lot of exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heheheeeeeeee

My heart may fail, and my spirit grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever.   Psalm 73:26 NLT
